How to Connect with Teachers

There is a whole world of classrooms out there filled with teachers just like you; why not get connected with some? You can build your individual professional learning community by networking and making new connections through Edmodo.
Note: When you are connected with a teacher, you can direct message each other. Think about all the collaboration you can have with teachers across the world!
How to Search for Teachers
- Type a teacher’s name or school name in the search field located at the top of your Edmodo homepage and hit enter (you may also use the search field located on your profile page).
- View the stream which appears below the search field containing matches of anyone already in your teacher network, and anyone who is in a group that you are also a member of, as you type in the teacher’s name.
How to Connect with Teachers
- Visit the teacher’s profile page and click the “Add Connection” button located at the top of the page. A connection request will be sent to that teacher. The teacher can accept or deny your request.
- Cancel a connection request by visiting the the profile page of the teacher you requested to connect with, and select the “Cancel” link in the top right corner.
Note: Suggested connections are listed on the right panel of your homepage when viewing the “Latest Posts” filter.
How to Claim/Change Your Own Edmodo Profile URL
Teachers can claim their own Edmodo profile URL (www.edmodo.com/yourname). This can be used to easily share your Edmodo profile with other teachers.
- Visit your profile page. A yellow box at the top of the page will prompt you to claim your URL.
- Select the “Change My URL” link located below your badges to change your profile URL.
How to Edit Your Privacy Settings
1. Click “Account” and then “Settings” on your Edmodo toolbar.
2. Click the “Privacy” tab on the options bar at the top of the page.
