Edmodo App for iPad
Currently, the most updated version of the Edmodo iPad app works and acts like the browser version of Edmodo! With the updated version of the Edmodo app, you and your students can use Edmodo on iPads, inside and outside the classroom.

Note: In order to access the latest Edmodo iPad features, you will need the most updated version of the Edmodo App and your iPad must be updated to iOS 6.
- How to Upload from the iPad Camera Roll:
- You can upload screenshots, photos or videos to Edmodo from your iPad from the camera icon, post bubble (attaching to a post), or your library.
From Camera Icon (to library):
1) Tap the camera icon on the grey toolbar.
2) Tap Camera or Albums
3) Select your photo, move and scale your photo, and tap “Use”.
4) Your selected file will be uploaded to your library.
From Attaching to a Post:
1) Tap and hold the “File” button in the post bubble (under text box).
2) Tap “Take Photo or Video” or “Choose Existing”
3) Take or select image and tap “Use”.
4) Fill in post and “Send To” details and select “Send”.
From your Library:
1) Tap the “Library” icon on the top Edmodo toolbar.
2) Tap “Add to Library” on the top left panel.
3) Tap “Upload”.
4) Tap “Take Photo or Video” or “Choose Existing”
5) Take or select image and tap “Use”. Your file will now be in your library. View the Library help page to learn how to share folders from your library.
- Uploading and Downloading Files:
- You can now open files from other supported apps within Edmodo (and vice versa).
Uploading Files to Edmodo (below are the steps to upload a file from the app Pages to Edmodo):
1) Open Pages (or the non-Edmodo app) and create a new document, or open an existing document
2) Tap the wrench icon at the top right of the screen.
3) Tap “Share and Print.”
4) Tap “Open in Another App.
5) Save the document with the desired file format (Save as a PDF or Word document so that the document can be annotated on a computer web browser).
6) Tap “Choose App”
7) Select “Open in Edmodo”. The document will be uploaded straight to your Edmodo library.
Downloading Files from Edmodo:
1) Tap the “Library” icon on the top Edmodo toolbar.
2) Tap the file you would like to open in a non-Edmodo app.
3) Tap the document icon on the right panel.
4) Select the app you wou would like to use to open the document. The document will now open in the selected app.
- Adding a Profile Picture:
- A user is able to upload a profile picture using an iPhone or iPod Touch. Currently, this feature is unavailable on the iPad.
- Additional iPad notes:
- Turn the iPad to landscape mode for optimal viewing.
- You can now add documents to your Edmodo library from other iPad apps (see steps above).
- Subdomains: If a teacher or student is connected to a subdomain, a message will appear that says you are using an “institutionalized version”. If this is the case, please contact your school administrator for the special teacher code.
- Currently, websites or apps containing Flash will not work on the iPad.
Edmodo App for iPhone/iPod
Using the Edmodo App for an iPhone/iPod Touch, you can:
- Read and reply to posts by selecting the “Posts” icon.
- Post notes to your groups or connections by selecting the blue “write” icon in the upper right corner.
- View your notifications by selecting the “Notifications” icon. To hide a notification, slide your finger over the notification and click hide.
- Setup push notifications. (Push notifications are silent.)
- Join new groups and access your existing groups by selecting the “Groups” icon.
- View your profile page by selecting the “Profile” icon. Teacher and student profiles are different.
As a teacher you can view all your connections’ profiles and send direct messages to them.
As a student you can show your favorite quotation, your learning style and career goals, and view all your classmates’ profiles. - View the contents of your library (including your folders and shared folders), plus add new content from your mobile device by selecting the “Library” icon.
- Teachers have full access to their gradebook, allowing them to view and grade assignments directly from their mobile device. For students, the app provides the ability to turn in assignments and view all their grades.

Mobile Website
Edmodo offers a mobile website that is available via any Internet enabled mobile device at m.edmodo.com.
From the mobile website, you can:
- Read and reply to posts
- Post notes to your groups
- View your notifications
- Join groups
Edmodo also offers native apps for Android and iPhone devices (including iPod Touch, iPad).

Edmodo offers a full-featured application for Android devices available for free from the Android App Marketplace. Download the app now.
With the Edmodo application for Android, you can:
- Read and reply to posts by selecting the “Posts” icon.
- Post notes to your groups or connections by selecting the blue “write” icon in the upper right corner.
- View your notifications by selecting the “Notifications” icon.
- Join new groups and access your existing groups by selecting the “Groups” icon.
- View your profile page by selecting the “Profile” icon. (Note: this is only available for teacher accounts)
- From the profile page, you can also view all your connections and send direct messages to them
