RSS Feeds and Public Pages

Save this page to your Edmodo Library

RSS Feeds: You can keep your groups up to date with your school’s homepage, a favorite blog or even the daily news with just a click of the mouse. Teachers can subscribe their groups to RSS feeds. This information will automatically update within your group’s communication stream, and the posts will be added to your library in the “Attached to Posts” filter.

How to add an RSS Feed

  1. From the group’s communication stream, click the “Subscribe Group to Feed” link from right panel (located under the group code). A pop-up box will appear.
  2. Paste your RSS feed URL in the open field at the top of the pop-up box.
  3. Click “Subscribe.”

Note: Edmodo checks for new RSS feed posts every 1-2 hours and will retrieve the first five posts since Edmodo last checked.

How to unsubscribe from a RSS Feed

  1. From the RSS feed pop-up box, click the red “X” located to the right of the feed.

How to make a post public

Public Pages: Sharing your students’ work, assignment or quiz has never been easier! Each group you create includes a public page that’s easily accessible. The public page gives teachers the option to share Edmodo posts with a wider audience on a case-by-case basis, including parents who have an account on Edmodo.
Note: By default, everything posted in your Edmodo group is private, and only the members of the group are able to view its contents, unless you make it public.

  1. Hover over the post.
  2. Click the arrow that appears in the top right corner of the post.
  3. Click the “Make Public” option.

Note: By marking the post public, the post is now visible from the group’s public page, and from any parent account associated with that group. This page is not searchable; the viewer must have the link.

How to revoke a post’s public status and remove from the group’s public page

  1. Hover over the post.
  2. Click the arrow that appears in the top right corner of the post.
  3. Click the “Make Private” option.

How to view your group’s Public Page

  1. Click on the group on the left panel of your homepage for whose public page you’d like to view.
  2. Click on the “Public Page” link on the right panel of your Edmodo homepage, which will automatically open a new tab in your browser.
  3. View the new tab in your browser, which will show the group’s unique URL and will display any posts from the group that are marked “public”.

Note: RSS feeds are offered for a group’s public page. Click the “Subscribe” link in the top right corner of the group’s public page.
